The professional users of the products are informed by the safety data sheet.
In case of consumer use, no safety data sheet is provided, the only information source in such cases is the text of the label.
Taking into consideration the above mentioned fact, it is easy to identificate that it is a very important tool of chemical safety.
The competent authorities are continuously checking the compilance of the labels - this is an other argument which shows the importance of this document.
The functions of the labelling:
- drawing the attention of the users to the possible hazards of the product,
- providing information regarding the given product
- providing information about the necessary protective measures during the use of the product.
In the next section we collected some basic information regarding the labelling of chemicals. We would like to draw your attention that these regulations give only a framework to labelling, the national authorities may require more detailed label information, so in all cases please check the relevant national regulations.
