Tasks for downstream users, who import substances, preparations or articles from outside of the EU
Independently from the type of nusiness carried out, you have to verify that you get the chemicals or preparations from outside the European Union (this includes also detergents, solvents and similar materials).
If you are responsible for the physical import of materials or preparations into the EU, and according to REACH fulfill the role of importeur, you might need to registrate the materials.
If you import goods, it is also possible that you must meet REACH requierments during your activities.
If you purchase from a vendor from another country within the EU, you don’t count as an importeur and don’t have to make a registration. If you buy materials or preparations from a non-EU vendor with „sole representative”, you count as a downstream user according to REACH and do not have to make a registration.
